Excellent private cloud value!

Compared to DigitalOcean, Sim-networks Private Cloud offered 25% more resources for the same price. Worth it! 👍

Fast VPS setup

I needed a Linux VPS quickly and Sim-networks delivered! The setup was so fast, literally a few minutes after payment. It's running perfectly for my dev environment. So happy with the performance for the price. I'm definitely coming back for more services and telling my colleagues about this!

Good Dedicated Server Purchase

I recently ordered a Dedicated Server from Sim-networks. The ordering process was straightforward enough, though I had to double-check a couple of specs. Provisioning actually took about 48 hours, which was faster than their stated 72-hour window, so that was a plus. Quality of the server has been solid so far; no issues with uptime or performance. I did contact support once about an IP address configuration, and they responded within a few hours. The documentation could be a bit clearer for some advanced setups, but overall it's a reliable service. I'm considering migrating more services here.

Thinking about getting a VPS here. What's the deal with payment? Do they take PayPal or is it just cards?

E Elena 1 month ago
Pretty sure they take the usual credit cards. I paid with Visa last time. Not sure about PayPal, I didn't see that option.

They take most major credit cards, I've used Mastercard before. I don't think I saw PayPal as an option when I signed up, but might be worth checking checkout to be sure. I know some places add it later.

Does anyone know if you can actually upgrade your VPS plan later on if you need more resources? Or are you stuck with what you pick first?

D Dana 4 weeks ago
Yeah, you can definitely upgrade. I started with a smaller one and scaled up when I needed more RAM and CPU. It was pretty straightforward from the control panel.

C Chris Hughes 3 weeks ago
My buddy did that, it was easy for him. No need to migrate or anything, just a plan change.

How long does it typically take to get a dedicated server provisioned once you order it? Need it kinda fast for a project.

D Derek B. 3 weeks ago
From my experience, dedicated servers take a bit longer than a VPS. It's not instant like a cloud instance. I'd say give it a few days, maybe 1-3 business days. It's not like Hetzner's instant server auctions.
5
D Daisy 3 weeks ago
It's not immediate, no. They have to do some setup. I waited about 2 days for mine, but that was a pretty standard configuration. If you have custom specs, it might take a tad longer.

How do these guys compare to DigitalOcean? I've used DO before but looking for something maybe a bit more enterprise-y.

J Jared 1 month ago
SIM-Networks is definitely more geared towards enterprise and managed services than DigitalOcean. DO is great for quick dev stuff, but SIM-Networks feels more robust if you need serious infrastructure and higher-tier support.

S Sarah 1 month ago
It's a different league. DO is developer-friendly, easy VPS stuff. SIM-Networks is more about dedicated servers, managed clouds, and actual complex IT infrastructure. If you need something beyond basic droplets, SIM-Networks is probably a better fit for those bigger projects.

Are their data centers actually TIER III certified? Or is that just marketing speak?

M Mike Bennett 1 month ago
They say they are, and from what I've seen of their facilities (virtually, of course), it looks legit. Never had any issues that would suggest otherwise.
1
D David 4 weeks ago
Pretty sure they are. That's a big part of their pitch for reliability. I've always seen them mention TIER III+ in their docs.

Anybody know if they do free trials for cloud servers? Want to test it out before committing.

M Mia N. 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually have a free trial period for some of their cloud products. I got one when I first signed up for their IaaS. Check their main page or contact sales.

I think they offer them for cloud servers, but not for everything. It's usually a limited time or specific plan. Worth asking them directly or checking their promotions.

Hey, wondering if anyone's had issues with their dedicated servers? I'm looking for high uptime, like 99.9% at least.

C Cody B. 1 month ago
Mine's been rock solid for over a year now. I haven't had any noticeable downtime. I think they guarantee something like that, pretty sure it's in their info.
4
B Beth 1 month ago
Yeah, they advertise high availability. My cloud setup has been pretty stable, so I'd expect the same for dedicated. Never had a problem myself.

Is there a specific place to put promo codes? I'm trying to sign up and got a code but don't see where to enter it.

M Mark J. 4 weeks ago
It's usually in the billing section or checkout page, near where you finalize your payment. Look for a field that says 'Promo Code' or 'Coupon'.
6
T Tom 3 weeks ago
During checkout, when you're almost done setting up your order and choosing payment, there's a box for promo codes. It's easy to miss if you're rushing.
